ABOUT
The founder of Outer Island Stone Care started in the stone restoration business in 1988 and on Maui in 1995 where he pioneered many of the practices that are commonly used today. Within a very short time he became the preferred stone restoration service provider working for builders and property managers in resort communities of Wailea, Makena, and Kapalua. Hotel jobs include the 36,000 squrae foot sandstone clean and seal at Embassy Suites Kaanapali, and the 523 room marble floor restoration at Outrigger Wailea where each phase was finished ahead of schedule.
In 2003 the Maui business (Eurotech Marble) was sold to allow more focus on the Big Island, specialising on the luxury resort communities; Hualalai, Kukio, Mauna Kea, Hapuna, 49 Black Sand, and others. Our popularity on the Big Island grew quickly because there was such a large demand for someone who really understood all the different types of stone being used in these exquisite properties. Problem solving was also necessary for the fast moving construction sector to correct poor quality stone, and installation/construction defects, allowing builders to stay on schedule.
The success was because of the trust awarded due to experience and the ability to educate the client on causes, restoration options, and maintenance. Over time the accuracy of the advice given became evident and the quality of workmanship consistent, which created loyalty among clients who wanted only the best.
