STONE CLEANING & RESTORATION

Marble Floor Cleaning

We have several ways to clean natural stone and each stone cleaning technique will be determined by the type of stone. Identification is a very important part of stone restoration and cleaning.

If the stone is not properly identified at least into its proper classification (marble, limestone, granite, slate, quartzite, sandstone) then there could be problems. This is why experience is so important.

You see, the cleaning chemicals that work very well on granite and quartzite will destroy a polished finish when cleaning marble and deeply damage the surface when cleaning limestone. The best chemical for cleaning limestone will burn the finish on polished granite. Of course, all of these floors can be cleaned with very mild neutral pH cleaners, but this will not be nearly as effective as using the proper chemicals correctly suited for the stone.
